This project involved automating an industrial bolt grinding process for SPS Technologies. In this picture you can see bolts sitting in their holding fixtures.

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to optimize the design specifications of our newly proposed adjustable fixtures as well as optimizing the number of types of new adjustable fixtures needed.

Here is a SolidWorks drawing of the final design of our automated bolt loader. This device would load the bolts as they come in on a rail and place the bolts into our adjustable fixtures.
